from having sun screen in it. Jason taught her to say
cheese.... we just say show us your teeth!
letting Savannah play in the water...which she loves!
After recovering from a BAD case of redbugs 4 weekends ago, a horrible tummy ache from wild plums 3 weekends ago, the 4th of July and a trip to the lake I finally have some new pics and things to tell about! Some months its a challenge to come up with stuff to post about!
Jason and I went with my Dad to look at some land about a month ago. The night we got back I found a tick on me and the next morning I woke up with what I thought was a rash.... well come to find out it was redbugs!! For any of you who have never had the joy of experiencing redbugs I would compare it to a bad case of chickenpox!! So after several oatmeal baths, a trip to the Dr, a prescription for; antibiotics, itch medicine and a steroid I was finally itch free about a week later...... Just in time to pick some "wild" green plums (one of my favorite things) and blueberries. I have never actually eaten the wild variety and needless to say I never will again :) Fun times!!
For the 4th we had Jason's family over for lunch and we cooked out. Then we went to my Dad's for dinner that evening. Last year we didn't take S to see the fireworks but we decided to give it a try this year. Unfortunately she wasn't interested in the fireworks. Granted it was her bedtime and she was tired and cranky before we ever got there. Maybe next year!
This past weekend we went back to the river house in Pickensville. We all love it there. Savannah loves to ride on the boat, run around, play with the dogs and pretty much get her way the whole time we are there :) Grandparents!! But she was still very good.
I am so amazed at how much Savannah has grown, changed, matured, developed and somehow all of a sudden become not a baby anymore. For about the past couple of months she has started to really play independently on her own. Right now she loves to play with her babies. She will feed, change, rock, stroll, swing and even ride them around in her car! It's so fun to just watch her play. Its so amazing how much they learn and pick up on. Last night I was laying on the couch and she came up and said "scoot over a little bit mommy" because she wanted to lay beside me and the other day she said "I wanna go fishing". Jason and I just look at each other and say "did she just say that?" We find ourselves saying that more and more here lately!
