About to leave for the first day of schoolWe took the kids to the park one evening and it was still 90 outside. They had a great time despite the heat. The park we went to this time had the bucket seat swings for Sam and he had the best time swinging. In fact (I wish I could have caught it on camera) he almost fell asleep in the swing because he had only had a cat nap that day.
Savannah celebrated her birthday (on the 9th) by spending the day with us and eating and playing at Chick-fil-A for lunch. Then on the 11th she started school. Busy week for my sweet little girl! She has done great so far. There has been no crying when I drop her off and she has had all "green cards" (good behavior). I pray that this will continue. I stay positive when we talk about going to school and emphasize the fun things, so I think this has helped her.
I have had mixed feelings about her starting school. Sam and I miss her when she is gone. But I can get a lot done from 9 - 11am while Sam takes his nap. So overall I think it is a good experience for us all. However the first time she comes home sick (she had not been to the Dr. in a year when we went for her 4yr checkup!!) I may change my mind :). But I know that comes with the territory. Just not looking forward to it!
I love my babies more than I could ever express in words but I try to show them every day. I personally love the baby stage of having children but I do look forward to the fun things that are ahead as they grow up. The past 4 years have flown by but at the same time it feels like forever ago that Savannah was a baby. Now my baby boy is about to turn a year old! It makes me sad but also makes me cherish what little time I have left having a baby still. Praise God for my 2 little blessings!!
